Program Description: New Horizons for Young Women is an outdoor therapy program for girls ages 13-18, located in the healing wilderness of Maine. New Horizons provides nurturing but challenging environment for young women to have the time and support to recognize their issues and begin to deal with them. We provide a strong clinical component which includes two individual therapy sessions per week, 1-2 clinical group sessions per week, and daily group sessions facilitated by our wilderness instructors. Some of the issues girls are presenting when they come to New Horizons are depression,anxiety,school and academic issues, family conflict, adoption, self-harming behavior, defiance, running away, among others.
