Program Description:
Who we are: • Since 1948, Eagle Village has been a nonprofit leader in providing programs that directly improve the health and well-being of children and families from all Michigan counties. • Eagle Village programs are funded by a combination of local, state and federal funding and the generosity of private donors. Our Programs • Changing Lanes Intervention and Detention Programs: Short-term programs designed as a wake-up call for youth who are not appropriate for residential treatment but who are at-risk for becoming involved with the law or harming themselves. Parents or the juvenile court may refer teenagers to the Changing Lanes programs. Changing Lanes programming includes anger management, positive decision making, improving communication, life-skills coaching, and group and individual counseling. Family CHALLENGE Weekends: Parents and teens attend together for weekend-long work on their relationships, identifying why they are here, learning communication skills, setting limits, healing from past hurts and so much more. • Housing for the weekend provided in our 20 unit motel • All meals are included • Cost is $400 per weekend per family • Residential Treatment: Eagle Village works with teenagers between the ages of 11 and 17 who struggle with any number of emotional and behavioral issues. Staff works to help each young person discover the great potential within them. The typical “residential stay” at Eagle Village is for 9 to 12 months. By combining outstanding therapeutic care, spiritual guidance and leadership training along with on-campus family weekends (L.E.G.A.C.E), we are able to give hurting young people and their families hope for a better future. o In 2010, Eagle Village provided longer-term residential treatment to over 130 young people from all over Michigan. • Foster Care Services: Foster Care through Eagle Village provides safe, supportive alternative homes for children of all ages from families in crisis. Services are a collaborative effort between parents, permanency workers, foster parents, and the community to establish and carry out the appropriate plan for each. Eagle Village assists foster families in obtaining their state license and provides consistent and ongoing support including training, parenting classes and licensing updates. • Adoption Services: Full adoption services including licensing. The above information is only part of what we offer families in Michigan. Please contact me for more details and information on how to be included in your directory. Thank you Lisa Spaugh Marketing Specialist Eagle Village
